M Street Park in Southie was a good viewing spot for the fireworks and without the crowds at Long Wharf.

I didn't go this year, but last year we found Fan Pier, behind the courthouse, to be quite pleasant and uncrowded.

Doesn't M Street Beach face the wrong direction for these fireworks?

Ron: M Street Park is at the top of a small hill between M and N Streets on East Broadway. Different direction from M Street Beach. Hadn't thought of going to the park to watch the fireworks. If they have them again next year, will keep that in mind!
