Allston pizza place wins approval to make pies later into the night
By adamg on Thu, 03/10/2016 - 4:23pm
The Boston Licensing Board today gave Rock City Pizza, 568 Cambridge St., permission to stay open until 2 a.m. - and deliver until 3 a.m.
The pizza place had previously had to close at 1 a.m.
At a hearing yesterday, the pizza place's owner said the public need for the later hours comes from the repeated requests he's been getting from customers for later food - especially from people wandering by from nearby bars that have later closing times. He noted he's also right down the street from St. Elizabeth's Hospital.

So I will say I love this
So I will say I love this place. The owner is very friendly and has such a great attitude. So much better than the previous place.
I recommend the Blanco Hawaiian pizza. Bacon + Brown Sugar is amazing.
I am glad he is able to stay open later if he wants and I totally understand why walking down cambridge st coming home from Allston village people would want some pizza or subs.
So Far So Good
Got a sub here the other afternoon and it was my first time in the place. It was excellent. Will definitely go back.
Can't remember the name of the old place
But as someone who lives up the road, this would be a great checkpoint when walking home from the Model :)
The old place
Was Big A
That spot was the Big A until
That spot was the Big A until a few years ago- wasn't too bad in the 90's when I lived in the area but looks like it tumbled in its later years
The original owners had
The original owners had resold it to someone who had kept the name and ran it into the ground, at least that is what I had gathered.
