I worked there in 1992. Owner was an antisemitic jackass. Dunno if Emil is still the owner but it sucked SO much working there I never went back in.

What a disappointment. Harvard Sq. is
a shadow of its former self, thanks to Harvard Univ., Cambridge elected officials and developers.

If you want to preserve it, make an acceptable, offer, take the risk, and make a go of it. If not, too bad. Money wins in commercial real estate, not sentimentality.

Sorry John, I don't have your deep pockets. Just a customer for the past 20 or so odd years. Enjoy the inevitable bank branch sure to move in.

for Cafe Algiers. The place had the worst service of anywhere in the Square.

than the red line?

The Red Line is Harvard Square nowadays. Anything not near the T has all the attractiveness of Everett. God forbid anything happens to Charlie's Kitchen.

just stopping by to troll the everett comment. i've lived here 5 years, in a giant 2 bedroom (just me!) with off street parking i wouldn't be able to afford in cambridge. we've got breweries, some good restaurants, and easy access into charlestown, downtown boston, east cambridge, medford and somerville. i'd live here over harvard square any day!

Yah, I've only gone in once and found the service and the offerings lackluster, not been back since.
