Apparently, BC kids jog under the Zakim and live in the Fenway

The BC athletics department posted this video today to prove that Boston College is Boston's college. For some reason, they thought the Charles between MIT and BU would be more of a draw than Mary Ann's.

Is that the Red Line or the Orange Line that has a stop at BC?
Almost makes me ashamed of my (non-Boston) Jesuit high school education.

Boston College -- you will
Boston College -- you will see our vomitus in these locations on any given weekend.
The closest thing ANY of
The closest thing ANY of those images had to do with BC is, sadly, the clip of the Orange Line train - IF you remember that BC/BCHigh and the Orange Line elevate all USED TO BE next to each other in the South End.
Well ...
That was followed by a shot of a Green Line station, with the Voice of the T being used to imply the trolley is headed to BC.
I blinked and missed the part
I blinked and missed the part with the Green Line car rumbling through - I thought it was a shot of a Silver Line station.
Not clear that there was a Green Line car
rumbling through. Starts with a train that's clearly not the Green Line (Orange Line?), then a half second of another train that I can't identify, then a complete switch over to a Green Line station (Park Street) with no train at all. Tres bizarre.

Orange Line
If you blow up to full screen, you can see "OAK GROVE" as the destination sign.
Boston IS America's Best Sports Town
Newton is America's Worst College Sports Town.
I guess that's the video they didn't want you to know exists.

>"Possible to spend the night at Logan for free?
>"Hi, I'm an international student coming to Boston for my PhD. My flight is scheduled to arrive at Logan at 5.47 pm on the 30th of Aug. I have to report at my uni by 8.30 am on the 31st. So I was wondering if it's possible for me to spend the time in between at Logan for free? I don't care about comfort or even sleep since I plan on sleeping in the long flight. I just want to know if it'll be a problem with the security if I'm killing time at the airport.
>"EDIT: I haven't booked my flight yet, so I could also potentially arrive in Boston at 8.00 pm on the 30th or a little past 12 am on the 31st."

You are truly an enigma.
You are truly an enigma.
I'd ask them where they were
I'd ask them where they were planning to live during the year and why they can't go there.
If it's off-campus, I'd understand them only having a lease starting Sept 1. In today's world, if I were an arriving foreign national I'd be leery of bumming around airports and lobbies to pass a night. How much does the hostel on Kneeland Street cost?
If it's on-campus, I'd advise them to have a word with the school. If they're required to report for orientation or something that day, either their campus housing must be available prior to that or it must be part of the agenda of that day.
Ridiculous. First, it's BU
Ridiculous. First, it's BU and MIT that hug the river. Half of BC is in Newton.
Second, BC is a hundred times better at hockey than it is at basketball. Only in Boston would an ACC basketball contest draw about 1,000 people.

Newton College
Not sure how common a dig it was but I knew some guys that went to BU who would refer to BC as Newton College.
To those who
attended the real Newton College, them's fightin' words!
Also, Boston is Gotham City
Also, Boston is Gotham City
the bc experience
freshman year-puking at maryanns
sophmore year- puking at tavern in the square, kicking mirrors off cars in areas between bars and after bar house parties.
junior year (puking on neighbors porch across the street from off campus apartment in neighborhood destroyed by former BC juniors living in same apartment)
senior year-puking in MODs because living in the 40 year old MODs is cool!!!!!
Man, will some students be disapointed!
That opening shot, which is spectacular, shows off BU's location in the heart of the city. Does the BC campus even make it in to a second or two of this very misleading video?
On the other hand,
they got the part about hanging out in bars right.
Boston's College
Little doubt that BC has, overall, the best athletes in the best sports town. But if it's truly "Boston's College," how does it stack up on in-lieu of tax payments to the city? Last time I checked in The Globe, BC paid 23% of what the city requested (compared with 86% from another large institution).
As a Boston resident...
...I resent any association with Boston College. To paraphrase Bill Simmons, "I have nothing against BC; it keeps more people from moving to Boston."
