Dead Red Line train has few perks, but at least the AC works

Among the people on a Red Line train that gave up the ghost between Broadway and South Station this morning: former state Transportation Secretary Jim Aloisi, who reports:

We have air conditioning but no lights.

The T attached another train to the dead one to push it into South Station.

Will asks the T:

Can you call my boss to explain why I've been late two days in a row? Thanks in advance.

Baker needs to wake up, stop dithering, and start working to fix the T reliability. His sole focus has been fiscal, fine, but the Fiscal Control Board needs to be joined by a T Functionality Improvement Board. The fiscal control board was charged with, of course, fiscal control, cutting services and costs while increasing revenue (fares). But Baker needs to get out of his office and see that the problems with the T include daily operations. Wake up Baker! Stop toeing the republican line of destroying public transit in favor of highways.

Amen to Trump-Baker (I can't believe that I'm even typing these words).

After making much political hay after taking office during snowmageddon and the resulting T meltdown., Baker has done little to address the declining level of T service. Of course the blame is not entirely his, State Legislature leaders have been very quiet too.

Charlie Baker, from what I understand, is someone who did a great deal of cutting off of MBTA funds and services to begin with, even before getting elected governor of the Bay State. Moreover, the vast majority of people here in the Bay State who voted Charlie Baker into office are people out in the suburbs and the boonies, who don't use public transportation at all, and therefore don't give a shit. It's disgusting!
