In East Boston, six teenagers dead since last fall

Vigil at 5 p.m. in East Boston Memorial Stadium

East Boston residents plan a peace vigil at 5 p.m. on Thursday in East Boston Memorial Stadium, near where the body of a teenager stabbed to death was found Christmas eve.

The victim was the sixth teen to die in East Boston to die in a violent or suspicious manner since September of 2015.

A list of the deaths:

Wilson Martinez, 15, found stabbed to death on Constitution Beach early on Sept. 7, 2015. Officials charge Martinez, a native of El Salvador, was murdered by low-level MS-13 members hoping to move up in the ranks by murdering somebody:

Carlos Melara, also known as "Chuchito" and "Criminal," 19, Henry Josue Parada Martinez, who went by "Street Danger," 20, and Edwin "Sangriento" Gonzalez, 20, all of East Boston, took a younger teen with them to look for Martinez, a native of El Salvador, at the urging of Duran and Noe "Crazy" Salvador Perez-Vasquez, the leader of ELS, another MS-13 gang in the area.

de la Paz

Irvin de Paz, 15, fatally stabbed in the back on Trenton Street around 5:15 p.m. on Sept. 20. Like Martinez, de Paz was a Salvadoran native whom authorities say was murdered by an MS-13 member looking to move up the gang ladder.

Joel "Animal" Martinez, 20, of East Boston, is charged with his murder. He gained his promotion but only after two traditional 13-second beatings by other MS-13 members - normally, an MS-13 murderer would only get one such beating.

de la Paz

Cristofer Perez de la Paz, 16, found shot to death on Falcon Street around 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 10.

De la Paz was a Chelsea resident who was planning to return to his native Guatemala because it would be safer than the Boston area for him. Authorities say that unlike the first two murders, de la Paz's was set in motion by an East Coast conclave of MS-13 leaders, who wanted to ramp up violence against rival gangs, such as the 18th Street Gang in the Boston area (Some nine days after de la Paz's murder, officials say, an MS-13 member opened fire in the Maverick Blue Line station when he saw an 18th Street member on a train).

Lainez

Blanca Lainez, 19, found beaten to death in the garage of an unfinished house on Princeton Street on June 15.

Angel Ramos, 21, and Jose Hernandez, 16, both of East Boston, have been charged with her murder.

Unidentified male teen, 16, whose body was found in Belle Isle Marsh on Dec. 15. He had been reported missing Nov. 13. Authorities have yet to declare a cause of death or identify him.

Unidentified male teen, found stabbed to death near East Boston Memorial Stadium around 10:45 p.m. on Dec. 24. His identify has yet to be released. WBUR reports police are looking at a possible gang connection to his death.

"Criminal immigrants reoffend at higher rates than ICE has suggested." -- Boston Globe June 4, 2016

Hopefully with President Trump, we can deport the MS-13 and other criminal alien crowd plaguing East Boston, Chelsea, Somerville and surrounds. The David Oliver and Kate Steinle laws will be passed in short order in January. Tripling the number of ICE officers to identify and deport criminal aliens and restore the common-sense Secure Community Act that allows local and State Police to cooperate with ICE. Cutting federal aid to the oxymoronic "Secure Communities" that shelter criminal aliens. Families of the 5 deceased teens should be filing a class-action suit against Marty Walsh. God Bless them.

You're accusing Boston Police, State Police and the FBI of not going after criminals despite evidence to the contrary. Some people might be ashamed to do that, but you're beyond shame, I see.

They would be rounded up and shipped out. The police know who they are.

Because they are only killing Spanishy folk right now, they are tolerated.

Don't comment on things you aren't sure about, it leads to very bad things (See 2016 presidential election).

it's better we look the other way so we can catch a few of these guys after they planned or executed a murder?

If you knew anything about the history of MS-13 and the 18th Street gang, you would know that Obama's immigration policies have nothing to do with what is going on. The birth of these gangs datesback to the 1980's in California prisons. Do your fact-based research before spouting off.

My response to Fish-head is because he makes it sound like Trump is going to finally start doing something about these gang members when Obama has deported at a rate higher than any previous administration.

Now you're saying that "Obama's immigration policies have nothing to do with what is going on" when in fact they directed efforts that are targeting these gangs. I do know about the history of these gangs but if you had a basic grasp of reading comprehension you would recognize that the history of these gangs is not the topic, how they are being dealt with today is.

Now, just to prove you wrong: "Under rules laid out by the Obama administration, which are intended to allow some undocumented residents to remain in the U.S., individuals listed as gang members are a high priority for deportation. "

Many of the gang members are citizens. The unaccompanied minor problem definitely is failed immigration policy.

Fish-head said "Hopefully with President Trump, we can deport the MS-13 and other criminal alien crowd" That's what I was responding to. You are changing the subject.

Won't change the influence the remaining gang members have.

He's the one who seems to think that Trump can deport the problem away. My point is that they've already been targeting gang members for deportation under Obama's administration. Why you think I wouldn't realize that only the gang members who are illegals are subject to deportation or why the history of these gangs has any relevance to that point is beyond me.

how do these kids harbor so much hate?

I think it usually starts with the kids given offers they can not refuse.
