Mattapan man charged with shooting at group out of his Bentley

Boston Police report arresting a Mattapan man on charges he took several shots at a group of men on Morton Street last Wednesday evening from the window of his red Bentley.

Police say Jamal Gittens, 23, missed his targets, then drove away.

Police found the Bentley not far away. After obtaining a search warrant, police say, they found a gun inside, which gave them grounds for an arrest warrant for Gittens, to whom the car is registered.

Police caught up with him on Monday and arrested him on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and unlawfully carrying a loaded weapon.

Innocent, etc.

I was not driving a Bentley when I was 23. Wrong line of work I guess...

He had to drive his own Bentley?

Oh the ignominy.

Something tells me he already is a federally prohibited person and the inability to obtain a license is the least of his legal troubles.

How dare you make that assumption!

If you read the story carefully, you'll see he was only charged with a driving citation, not the far more serious crime the other guy was. It's why I didn't link to it myself.

I just think his police record would have excluded him from obtaining a license to carry.
