Tory Bullock sums up the feelings of many BPS students - and staffers (may take a moment to come up):

We all feel that way... until
We all feel that way... until we're staring into the gimlet eye of snow day number 5.
One is great, though. I like it.
Just... a maximum of three. Nicely spaced out. Okay?
Remember all those times that
Remember all those times that they called off school the night before a storm was predicted, when it was 50 degrees and flake #1 was still hours away?
Anybody?
I'm sure that you have heard the story
... about the time that a storm got way bigger and moved way faster and trapped people in cars and trucks and buses, including school kids? How your spouse decided to walk and arrived home two hours later in a state of hypothermia?
No?
Back in the day....
We had to wait until waking up in the AM to hear whether we had a snow day on the radio listening to the entire list being recited.
Otherwise we had to walk uphill both ways through 6 feet of snow (and we liked it!)
Now I just work from home. LOL.
Yeah ...
Kids these days! We listened to Gary LaPierre read the school cancellations and we liked it!
My Town
My Michigan hometown was one of those horrible places that did not always cancel school when all other towns did, and usually waited as late as possible to announce their decision. Kids would understandably grow impatient not hearing our town mentioned in the radio listings, and the radiio stations would get more than a few calls during songs, commercials, etc., asking for updates. DJ's got more than a little irate at times.....and we liked it!
As a kid, hearing the endless stream
of cancellations on WBZ was great.
As an adult, I found it to be a huge annoyance, as it usually pre-empted everything but the traffic and weather reports. And I would often ask myself "If a storm is THAT bad, why not just name the schools that aren't closing for the day."
This was a great video
And the BPS might want to adopt his rhyme, though it would probably have to be unofficially.
That said, like the first commenter said, a snow day in February just means another day of school/work in June.
