New mural takes shape on the Greenway

Mural being painted on Boston's Rose Kennedy Greenway

Artist Mehdi Ghadyanloo was hard at work in and above Dewey Square today, turning South Station side of the O'Neill Tunnel ventilation shaft into the Greenway's latest mural, to be called Spaces Of Hope.

I was there just after 5 PM, and Medhi happened to be finishing his day. I spoke to him for a minute after he came down, and he said the mural will be done in 10 days. I dunno if they have an “unveiling” ceremony or anything planned, but come October 28th, you should be able to see the finished product. I'm eager to see it.

I hated the last one. I still miss pajama boy the "terrorist" That was my favorite one so far.

I really liked the third one, although I did always feel like the round yellow part on the upper left seemed unfinished. To each their own.

This new one looks cool so far.

~What is the sound that will be heard when the first drunk driver mistakes this for the 93 North on-ramp?

It’s always nice when a new mural is being created! Artist Mehdi Ghadyanloo’s Spaces of Hope mural is sure to brighten Dewey Square and the Greenway once it’s complete.
