Chain-reaction crash on I-93 in Dorchester causes massive backup
By adamg on Thu, 05/11/2017 - 9:07am
Adam Salsman had a long time to observe the aftermath of the crash on I-93 south just past the Neponset Circle exit, which cut traffic down to one lane around 8:30 a.m. At one point, the state was predicting 43 minutes to go three miles.

Oh dear
I hope all those drivers were wearing their helmets.
And look - that car is BLACK and doesn't have its lights on. Can't blame someone for running into it if they can't see it.
A4 Titanium package
Love those wheels
Those headlights are $2,000
Those headlights are $2,000 each, not a nice insurance claim.
Oh no
I hope nobody dropped their phones
Remember that those phones
provide the data to the signs telling drivers it's 43 minutes to Neponset Circle.
cause
will we ever find out? Car crashes lack solutions, when we never hear how to adjust behavior, roadway design or technology.
If you click on the link to the photos,
you will see a fire truck blocking the lanes due to this mini pile up in the high speed lane. Somebody was not paying attention and/or cars were way to close to each other.
Actually, there is plenty of information out there on how to drive responsibly.
If I have to drive the Expressway when the HOV lane
is deployed, I try to avoid the left lane so I'm not hugging the barrier. I've seen too many instances where people suddenly slow down going into a curve because the barrier spooks them out.
Wouldn't be an issue
If the car behind them wasn't following too closely for the speed and reaction time.
I hit the residual from this
I hit the residual from this traffic. It seems like we are having more and more rush hour accidents and breakdowns. I remember traffic being bad before but suddenly this spring it seems like there is one every single day on my way to and from work.
Good thing that today is
National Bike to work day.
Even better thing that
no bicyclists were involved in the Expressway crash.
Damn..
Then who will the drivers blame for the crash?
Actually NEXT week is bike week
...and May 19th is Bike to Work day.
Global Bike to Work Day is
Global Bike to Work Day is today.
Boston Bike to Work Day is the 19th.
Because we have to be different.
Strava
Is life and strava says today is Global Bike to Work Day
Can't we all get on the same schedule
Now that Lilac Sunday is on SATURDAY, nothing makes sense anymore.
I93 is a godamn mess. There's
I93 is a godamn mess. There's traffic there at all hours of day and night
Easy solution...
Stop looking at your phones and maintain a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front of you. Problem solved.
