That's what you call a 'mackerel sky'. There's an old saying - 'A mackerel sky never leaves the ground dry.'
My grandmother told me this saying the night before the Blizzard of '78. And we know where that went.....
The French Toast Alert level went up a notch last night - although fortunately not because we're expecting another Storm of the Century, but maybe 1 to 3 inches over the next couple of days.
