Watch a T map morph into its actual geography.
And here's a map showing the current T lines downtown superimposed on an 1840 map of Boston.
It's not as far off from 'real' as I'd imagined.
While we all can appreciate any attempt to represrng the T lines to scale, it's generous to say this animation needs some work. The animator didn't utilize enough control points and the result is sections of the lines migrating through intersections to appear on another side of a track. This works against the attemp to scale the sections of track in place to better represent train line coverage.
