Eric Maki watched Cambridge firefighters this morning rescue a bunch of ducklings from a storm drain on Bond Street between Concord Avenue and Garden Street - and then return them to their mother.

A group of ducks can be called a raft, team or paddling on the water, and
a flock in flight. They're also called a brace.
That last one is not really appropriate for these guys
A 'brace' can mean any two animals tied together. When used with regards to small game, it nearly always is in the context of transporting them from the hunt to the hearth.
Perhaps a bit too dark for the above story, yeah?
