Two medical-pot providers eye same sex-toys/packie/yoga strip mall in West Roxbury
By adamg on Fri, 01/27/2017 - 9:43pm
The Bulletin reports the Massachusetts-based Beacon Compassion Center and the Miami-base Massachusetts Patient Foundation recently made their pitches to the West Roxbury Neighborhood Council. Both would want to open up in Cohen Plaza, 1524 VFW Parkway, just before Spring Street.

Woohoo - Wild times in Westie!!!
Sex toys, packie, yoga, weed?
One stop shopping, eh?
Retreat center?
All they would need is a retreat center for when they make the jump to recreational products and it could be a destination!
Wait...what?
There's a sex shop in that minimall? Does Angela's Bridal and Special Occasion have a section in the back for really "special" occasions?
Yep
Sorry, left out the link in the original post to West Roxbury residents no longer have to drive all the way into Dedham for their sex toys (update since that went up: The Amazing store in Dedham is now vacant, so Dedham residents now have to drive all the way into West Roxbury for their sex toys).

Support locals (Beacon Compassion) --- not carpetbaggers
"Massachusetts Patient Foundation" is an astro-turfed name selected by a Miami-based business that also operates in Colorado. Their owner could not be bothered to attend the community meeting last week.
Beacon Compassion is a woman-run company with an executive team that comes from Hyde Park, Walpole and Roslindale.
Both are competing for the same spot. I know which one I am supporting.
This is a market niche where local accountability, ownership and roots matter. Please support Beacon Compassion in their efforts and if you are a District-6 resident please politely ask Councilor Matt O'Malley to show his support with a "letter of non-opposition" for Beacon's application. His email is [email protected]
Punctuation matters
For a moment, thought there was a same-sex toy store in West Roxbury. Thank you for the dashes.
:-)
Plumbing fixtures and electrical sockets, yes
Toys?
Red light district
West Roxbury's red light district . Hahaha !
Great location
It's not residential, and there's hardly ever any foot traffic, so no young kids are going to be walking by. But it's still conveniently located. I support this.
