Canton dog owners causing flooding with their pet poop

NBC Boston reports Canton officials are blaming scores of bags of dog poop tossed down storm drains for blocking the sewage system and are pleading with residents to throw the bags out in the trash, not in storm drains.

THIS sort of shit is why we can't have nice things. If "character is who you are when nobody's watching", then it turns out we're all surrounded by selfish assholes.

we're all surrounded by selfish assholes.

They're everywhere, and with varying frequency, are most all of us. Human nature, it is. Your degree of civilization is in inverse proportion to the number of uncivilized things you do when nobody's watching. If you care about being a civilized person, then you should count yourself as a watcher.

Same Canton that won't approve the flood zone maps it needs to so that people can get flood insurance.

May they all stew in their own juices.

already happens in Boston. Bag it and dispose of it properly. Where I live somebody bags their dogs poop every morning but then leaves it on the stoop of the apartment building.

why the f-- bag it if not to dispose of it properly. Bag it. Dispose of it properly.

One more time. Bag it. Dispose of it properly.

Not sure why it is socially acceptable to let your pet shit on a public sidewalk. Find a place for it to shit in your house or yard.

Can't do it or don't have a yard? Then don't have a pet.

Should not be allowed on public sidewalks.

in South Boston pick up the crap then throw the bag in the gutter. Some throw it in your recycle bin.

Are they bagging it in hopes it will last longer? People do this in the Blue Hills and the Fells, bag their dogs feces and leave it on the trail. Its like expending effort to be more of an negligent owner than the people who dont do anything. Gun owners and dog owners both live as though whatever works for them is right and just, regardless of how it affects others.

Some of us are responsible, conscientious, and considerate; we bag our poop, dispose of it properly, and keep our dogs on leash. (Some of us even train our dogs and don't let them jump and lunge at every passerby.)

Teach your dog to use a litter box or toilet. Nobody wants to touch dog urine and feces particles that remain on the ground even after having been scooped.

You should see these birds, geese, rabbits, mice, possums, turkeys, coyotes and deer pee and poop all over the place. Really makes me sick to my stomach that Mother Nature didn't potty train these damn creatures.

There aren't 300 deer or turkeys living on my residential street.

When I was young, the expression "Let George do it" was current. It meant leave it, and somebody else will take care of it. Nowadays, I see some people assigning the task to God.

What about gun owners who shoot dogs? Where do they fit into this?

most people will do this while hiking so that they can pick it up on their way back through the trail.

Who drops bags of sh*t in a storm drain!?? I'm sorry, but how stupid and selfish can you be?

At one point, there were several people (now long gone, thank heavens!) who lived in our building who were throwing their dog poop down the storm drains nearby. It almost got our condo complex condemned. Fortunately, the trouble makers are gone, and our now-ex manager took a tough stance, so nobody does that any more.

It's disgusting that people can be so nervy...and disgusting.

This is why many large condofarms/apartment complexes will charge a fee for you to have your dog's DNA sequenced and put on file. When a stray pile is found, it is sampled and matched, and people are fined.
