Cybah got downtown early enough today to watch the rapids on Congress Street, between City Hall and Faneuil Hall, caused by a broken water main.

Why so many water main problems lately?

that torment the MBTA are getting bored, and they're looking for new worlds to conquer.

I'd hazard a guess it's because of the record cold temperatures the past couple days.

I blame the GLX. That's the source of all of this.

Even water towers are freezing and rupturing in some places now.

Boston has far fewer water main breaks and issues than any other similarly-sized and aged cities. Look at Philadelphia or Baltimore for comparison. The sub-surface infrastructure here is solid and well-maintained. Now the roads on the other hand....
