Fire heavily damages residence on Beacon Street in the Back Bay

The Boston Fire Department reports a two-alarm fire caused an estimated $500,000 in damage to 168 Beacon St., between Berkeley and Clarendon streets.

Firefighters responded around 6 p.m. to the fire, which spread in the walls between the second and third floors.

There were no injuries, the department says, adding the cause is under investigation.
