Guy driving away from collision in Somerville drags other driver for a quarter mile, police say
State Police report they are investigating a crash on Rte. 16 in Somerville last night that ended with a woman being dragged down Rte. 16 for a quarter mile.
According to State Police, a man in a Jeep and a woman in a Civic collided around 8 p.m. on Rte. 16 eastbound, near Boston Avenue.
During that encounter, the operator of the Jeep took-off, with the woman attached to his vehicle.
The woman was dragged approximately 1/4 of a mile before she broke free from the vehicle, in the area of the Whole Foods market on Route 16 in Medford. The woman was transported by ambulance to Boston Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
The woman was taken to Boston Medical Center for treatment. The Jeep driver eventually showed up at the State Police barracks in Medford and talked to investigators. State Police have not filed charges at this point.
