Orange Line platforms getting cloggy; riders getting wet and soggy

Signal problems at Wellington are jamming up Orange Line platforms as trains slow to a crawl. David Christopher reports he's at Wellington, where he watched helplessly as two completely full trains pulled in and then left, with no room for anybody to get on.

When does the new fleet of orange line cars go on its maiden voyage? Wont' really change much if the signals never work.

You can have the shiniest, most impressive train cars on the track, but it doesn't really improve service if the signals are still shitty.

Singapore said, eh, no need to rush the Marina Bay Sands casino rail link. When it happens it happens. Month one, traffic apocalypse. Singapore scrambles to link rail with MBS

The signals will be upgraded. There is a request for proposals out right now for a design-build firm to upgrade the entire signal system on the Red and Orange Lines. Estimated completion is currently scheduled for 2022.

they had short turned at least one train, as it pulled in completely empty.

What would add insult to injury, granted this was a signal issue and not a train issue, is if the test cars were on the tracks at Wellington at the time of the signal problem. They were there just north of the Wellington platform around 6 this morning when I was on the Orange Line headed to Boston.
