The HVAC system failed. It's function is to circulate and filter the air on the pool deck. The air became heavy with pool chemical fumes that you normally never experience.

Parts have been ordered and as soon as they are delivered they will have the HVAC specialist company that is under contract come in and make repairs.

anyone is welcome to call the pool before venturing there at: 617-635-5181.

That's terrible. If a simple failure of the ventilation makes people sick, there needs to be a warning system telling people to get out.

is something that should not only be installed in the swimming pool in question, but in every single other swimming pool in the Boston-Cambridge-Brookline-Somerville area.

Pool chemicals normally don't emit odor unless the water is filthy. Then you smell what you think is chlorine, but is actually chlorinated gas that is released when chlorine is combatting (a losing effort) against urine, sweat, feces etc...

This pool had significant renovations in recent years, and contractors should be held to account for these major issues. And the city needs to do a better job managing the health situation. Unacceptable.
