Steven D. Schmitt watched a Christmas bike parade through the Common today.

I'm a Santa without my
I'm a Santa without my reindeer
For many that seems so queer
My Rudolph is Raleigh
I have such folly
For Eve I'm ready, have no fear
Someone will have a good answer to this
And my apologies if I have asked this before.
As the post notes, runners get together for races. Now, most know they won't win, but they appreciate the idea of seeing how they stack up. Why don't bicyclists do that? I would think it would be fun, particularly with a closed course. Then again, I'm a runner.
Boston Bike Party
Is a way to stack up bicyclists to make a parade.
Races for bicyclists look pretty different than road races.

Santa in the Mall (not)
Actually, this photo is taken in the Common (that's Beacon Street east of Charles in the background), not in the Commonwealth Avenue Mall (where bikes aren't allowed).
You're right!
God, my eyes are going, or something. Fixed.
In case folks are wondering
This is an annual event, The Ciclismo Classico Jingle Ride, it's very fun and family friendly.
