Three displaced by fire on Melville Avenue in Dorchester

The Boston Fire Department reports firefighters responded before 2:50 a.m. to 31 Melville Ave. in Dorchester for what turned into a two-alarm fire.

Three residents were safely evacuated from the fire on the third floor, the department says. There were no injuries, the department says, adding damage was estimated at $200,000.
