The US Attorney's office in Boston reports an Arizona man who was offended by the idea of black Harvard students celebrating their impending graduation admitted yesterday he posted threats on Instagram to travel to Harvard and kill blacks and bomb the school.
Nicholas Zuckerman, 24, of Tempe, AZ, will be sentenced on May 23 on his guilty pleas to two counts of transmitting in interstate and foreign commerce a threat to injure the person of another. In a plea agreement, prosecutors and Zuckerman's attorney will ask Judge Indira Talwani to sentence him to between 12 and 18 months in prison, followed by three years of probation.
Zuckerman was arrested last June after he posted comments on a variety of Instagram photos, some from Harvard, threatening to travel to Harvard with "two automatics with extendo clips" to kill blacks who held an event to honor black graduates and to bomb the school.
According to the US Attorney's office:
A concerned citizen who saw the posts reported them to the Harvard University Police, who ultimately referred the case to federal authorities.
