California man who threatened to shoot up the Globe newsroom to plead guilty
WBUR reports the lawyer for the California guy who called the Globe more than a dozen times last August to threaten to storm the newsroom and kill people says the guy now realizes he was a shmuck and will plead guilty in Boston federal court and apologize.
US District Court Judge William Young yesterday set May 15 for a hearing at which Robert Chain will formally plead guilty to a charge of making threatening communications in interstate commerce and be sentenced.
By pleading guilty, Chain, 68, could get a reduced sentence. The charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in federal prison. As a convicted felon, he will have to give up the guns he owns - including a rifle he bought last May.
According to an affidavit by an FBI agent assigned to the case, the Trump-inspired Chain felt the appropriate response to a national editorial campaign, organized by the Globe, to ask people to stop attacking the press, was to call up the Globe newsroom and threaten what he said was "an enemy of the people," such as:
Hey, how’s your pussy smell today, nice and fresh? We are going to shoot you motherfuckers in the head, you Boston Globe cocksuckers. Shoot every fucking one of you.
Also:
You’re the enemy of the people, and we’re going to kill every fucking one of you. Hey, why don’t you call the F, why don’t you call Mueller, maybe he can help you out buddy. Still there faggot? Alright, why, you going to trace my call? What are you going to do motherfucker? You ain’t going to do shit. I’m going to shoot you in the fucking head later today, at 4 o’clock. Goodbye.
After that call, the Globe and Boston Police made sure the Globe offices downtown were heavily guarded.

30+ years of right wing AM radio
and the end of the Fairness Doctrine is precisely why we're seeing the proliferation of anti media, anti government, and yellow "dont step on snake" bumper stickers slapped on brand new lifted pickups parked in well manicured suburban neighborhoods.
Most of these knuckledraggers are just paranoid cosplaying gun fetishists but sometimes the ones who aren't exactly grounded in reality take this "Patriotic" mantra to it's logical end.
This country is in serious trouble.
Can they put him in the same
Can they put him in the same cell as the numerous Trump campaign criminals like Roger Stone? Let them deal with the fallout from their deplorable behavior by having to spend 24/7 with scum like this right wing gun nut loser.
Nice to see President Trump's DOJ putting politics aside
After the despicable politicization of the Justice Department under the previous administration, including the attempted coup d'etat, it's nice to see President Trump and his appointees putting politics aside and delivering justice for an organization that spews hate against him each day. As for the destruction of the Globe, no need to threaten violence to hasten it as they are self-destructing just fine on their own.
"attempted coup d'etat"
Dont worry, Fish.
The way things are going Dear Leader will probably soon get his very own Trumpschtag.
Soon, your "Patriotic" fever dreams of a Christo-Fascist American Keptocracy will come to fruition.
Mandarinenschwein, Mandarinenschwein, Über Alles!
you forgot the /s tag
you forgot the /s tag
When is the last time you had
When is the last time you had your tap water checked for lead? You might want to look into that.
The lead gets in his system
The lead gets in his system when he cries himself to sleep every night with a loaded gun in his mouth.
I'd call this a fine example of Poe's Law, but
everyone on uHub knows that Fish embodies the exact combination of dumb, gullible, and bigoted that believes this kind of childish wingnut fever dream. He's the perfect idiot Trumpie.
Come to think of it....
reading your comments...maybe he really WAS a cop.
Makes sense to me!
Wow, even the *lawyer* is pleading guilty?
(May want to check that first sentence.)
Yeah, not the smoothest writing
Fixed, thanks!
That's a lawyer
that's really with a client all the way.
