It could take longer to get where you want to on the T tomorrow
By adamg on Sun, 01/20/2019 - 5:41pm
The MBTA says subway and bus routes will run on Saturday schedules tomorrow, while commuter rail will run on a regular weekday schedule.
But in all cases, the T is advising riders to leave an extra 10 to 15 minutes to get somewhere due to potential after effects of today's storm. The T adds that some bus routes may still be running on snow routes.
The T says that because of the plunging temperatures, it will try to store as many trains and buses indoors tonight.

so
So nothing is new.. "plan for it taking longer than expected" is the norm these days.
Yeah, but
this time they warned us, so everything's cool, right?
The usual
"switching problems at.......".
It always
Takes me longer than I want, or should, to get to where I’m going on the T.
Baker is really taking care
Baker is really taking care of his base. Suburbanites get regularly scheduled commuter rail trains but Boston gets Saturday bus and subway schedule. Thanks little Mitt.
If you'd rather have your
If you'd rather have your buses and subways run on weekday Commuter Rail frequencies on MLK Day, that could be arranged. Keep in mind you will have to wait 90 minutes to 2 hours for your train. And then it will cost $6.25.
MLK Day has always been a
MLK Day has always been a Saturday schedule. That was known and expected and it's even on the printed cards. Making it sound like it's something being done because of the snow is strange.
Sorry if poorly expressed but ...
There are two separate issues.
Yes, subways and buses will be running on Saturday schedules. But in addition, there could be additional delays due to weather-related issues.
Lack of rhyme
You just forgot to rhyme, captain. It is your thing.
Behold:
There are 730 streets named after MLK and none are quite safe after dark
Due to the ice and the cold and localized mass transit incompetence on Jan 21st, you better just carpool and park.
Wow
You really are a piece of work, aren't you?
no piggybacking needed
Speaking of piggybackers, there was one behind me Friday at rush hour at Downtown Crossing station. I turned to look and realized the gate was stuck open and there were other people going though. So at rush hour, at Downtown Crossing, you have an open gate and none of the T police that Beth Germano reported as monitoring the gates.
This morning there is an open gate at Downtown Crossing near the exit in front of the AT&T store. Like a good citizen I reported this to a volunteer sitting in the booth who told me "It's broke, what do you want me to do about it?"
Plus a scam artist with the sob story on the train.
This seems to be a frequent occurrence (the gates being stuck open), I wonder what the problem is.
