Jury convicts Dorchester man of murdering two sisters in a jealous rage in 2011

Jean Weevins Janvier faces formal sentencing of life without parole today for the 2011 murders of sisters Stephanie and Judith Emile, following his conviction yesterday by a Suffolk Superior Court jury, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

After shooting the two sisters - in front of the 2-year-old niece they were babysitting in their Harlem Street apartment - Janviers fled the country. Authorities tracked him to his mother's home in Santo, Haiti, where he was arrested and handed over to US marshals in 2017 to face trial.

The jury convicted him of first-degree murder for the shooting death of Stephanie Emile, who had just broken off a relationship with him, and second-degree murder for the shooting death of Judith Emile.

I know this happens a lot with guys on the run but I always get a good feeling when they track these killers down no matter where they are. I'm sure he thought he was safe in Haiti.
