Boom! Lakers next?
Mayor Walsh says the Duck Boat parade will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
Fireworks erupt across greater Boston. Dan in Boston reports:
Everyone in Dorchester setting off the last of their 4th of July fireworks
Kenmore station is closed.
Crowds of college students flooded out of campuses and towards Kenmore Square and the Common. They were mostly calm, although one man was punched out on Hemenway Street in the Fenway.

Yeah baby! Bring it on!
Yeah baby! Bring it on!
Here too
I am used to the sound of firearms from local gun clubs and from dingbats "down by the power lines", but at 10:30 on a Sunday night, I have to relegate those sounds I hear also to everyone down here on the Cape setting off the last of their 4th of July fireworks too.
I love this country/country.

The situation out in Boston West, a.k.a. UMass Amherst
No noise at all in Arlington.
Happy celebrating, the rest of you. I'm going to get a good night's sleep.
I hope soboyuppie....
Has sleep apnea and pukes a little in his mask tonight. And then while he is cleaning out the mask, unruly sobos keep him up the rest of the night. And when he calls the police to tell them he can’t sleep because of it they don’t show up and soboyuppie gets no sleep and is late to work and gets reprimanded by his boss in front of everyone and feels shame.
That is all.
Go pats.
Fu soboyuppie
I don't think...
...he's lived in Southie for some time (if he ever did).
The New York Post's take
Patriots do just enough to win Superbowl
It was one of the slower games I've known, but they did a lot more than the Jets (4-12) and the Giants (5-11)!
Yeah, there's a lot of hate
...but remember that the Super Bowl attracts a huge audience of gapers who really aren't interested in football. I thought the defense was brilliant and worth watching all on its own (although, ouch Patrick Chung), and that the offense did a good job of not losing its collective mind when they weren't able to score. Special teams great except for Gostkowski, I dunno dude...
Wait
Gostkowski scored 7 points, which was more than the rest of the Patriots offense and the Rams offense could muster.
Yes, he missed one, but the Rams kicker missed one, too.
Wait? Why?
PAT kickers are commonly at or near the highest individual scorers on their team. It doesn't mean anything, because they have more "one job to do" scoring opportunities than the rest of the team combined. Field goals are, shall we say, more dynamic, and that FG wasn't exactly a chip shot but it wasn't particularly challenging either. He shanked it.
Please don't quote "best all time" lists. I get that by some measures and when you consider his entire career, he's in the top on many lists because of the number of points he's scored. And, yeah, again, his career percentage is also high -- due to the years where he was completely reliable. But lately, he seems a lot less reliable. I love the guy but I'm concerned.
As one of the Pats' mantras goes
He did his job.
The same is not universal of the rest of the offense. Even the Gronk was noting that in a post game interview.
As far as "all time best," I would say that Vinateri is still the greatest with his feet.
lots of loud fireworks going
lots of loud fireworks going off in Watertown/Waltham area for 20-30 mins after the game.
and PS, the Celtics would have to be another california team, the Warriors, for us to have another parade in June!
