Limping man sought for theft at Dedham sports club

Limping man

Dedham Police report they are looking for a man who broke into an office at the Dedham Health & Athletic Complex on Dec. 27, stole "a large sum of cash" and gift and credit cards, then later used the credit cards to buy gift cards at the CVS on Washington Street in Roslindale.

The suspect walks with a distinct limp and his right foot points nearly 90 degrees outward as he walks.

If he looks or sounds familiar, contact Det. James Quigley at 781-751-9313.

Everyone and their grandma is walking around with a hi-definition camera these days, but police and store security pictures always look like they were chiseled by a sass-mouthed bird in one of those Flintstone-types cameras.

I'll say it again.

Chicken and Egg. Cameras and storage media

The cameras are great, the capacity for storage of high quality imagery is what is costly for the end user. It's getting better, but I learned about this when I was working on a courthouse project +/-10+ years ago.
