Little known tales of Revolutionary Boston, thanks to President Trump

In case you missed it, the leader of the free world gave a speech yesterday on the occasion of our independence in which he said, among other things, that our brave Continental Army "manned the amperts, ran the ramparts and took over the airports, it did everything it had to do" (and then we beat the British at the little known Revolutionary battle of Fort McHenry).

That sent historians scurrying to find tales of the airport battles. Here are some of the local ones:

Obama is an educated, well spoken, self made man. Trump is a stupid trust fund brat who is mocked in every country. Of course you like Trump. Neither of you are smart enough to think of a name so you just tacked on junior at the end of your kids name.

Parent: What did I just hear you say?
Bratty kid: JEFFREY STOMPS IN PUDDLES

this Clint McGuire is a fool. Everyone knows international arrivals come in at Terminal E. Also rhymes without repeating the same sound. Amateur hour.

Recall that England wasn't a foreign country then, so no need for Brits to go through Customs.

...if we lost that war, today we'd be speaking...um, uh, never mind.

Came in through Terminal C because I went through US Customs in Dublin.

Yes, that's available for at least some flights from Dublin - but you didn't arrive in Boston "from London".
You had a completely separate arrival/passport process to get from London to Dublin, then a complete passport/etc... process in Dublin to get to your outbound gate.
.
It's handy, except when you're in line behind somebody who hasn't done it before and is flumoxxed at having gone through baggage check counter downstairs, security upstairs, and then downstairs to more lines (!) - a passport control line that feeds into customs line, I think.
.
It mostly beats the hell out of doing it on arrival at E.
It definitely beats the hell out of a few years ago when it was staffed irregularly - once I boarded flight in Dublin, had the short hop to Shannon (which in my childhood was where the duty-free shop was), had to get off plane with my carry-ons and do check-in/security/immigration to get back on the same plane and same seat.
.
Slight side-effect now is that the duty-free cart is not available on the US-bound flights that have already had customs/etc...

President Trump delivered a great speech, uplifting and joyous. I would rather have 10 Trump gaffes than listen to Øbama give an "I, me, mine" onanism.

For somebody who struggles to read large type on a teleprompter and clearly doesn't know what a "rampart" is or what war Fort McHenry played a key role in.

Indeed, it was truly Shakespearean - it brings to mind Macbeth's Tomorrow, and tomorrrow, and tomorrow speech, especially the last few lines.

How deluded are you? Trump makes everything about himself. He puts his name on all his failed businesses and on top of his closed casinos. Trump Airlines. Trump Steaks. Trump the board game. So many failures that his daddy had to bail him out on.

Wut?

of how comically idiotic and lacking in self-awareness Trumpies are, or an example of it.

The use of “onanism” in reference to someone other than Trump is a nice touch: such classic projection! Perfect self-skewering.

Poe’s Law strikes again.

went on television to re-assure the country that he had the economic problems of the times well in-hand.

Good thing, too. Back in those days before the internet, it was quite a task for the leader of the free world to get his message out to the far-flung reaches of all 57 states.

when Two Scoops reveals himself to be the dolt that he is…kind of pathetic…MAGAs rush to find counter-point examples of Dems - in their perverted MAGA world if you find a good enough example of a Dem making a gaff, Two Scoops won't sound as deranged and as simple...MAGAs aren't too smart themselves.

Look at any ranking of the most and least educated states. All the Trump voting states are at the bottom. How embarrassing for them.

I remember the Minute Man Express on the Yankee Doodle Airlines. Didnt need to check your musket in those days but the TSA did require you remove your powered wig.

It's a well known fact that the Continental Army's cavalry units rode velociraptors into battle against the hated British.
