Going Down...
These little beasties are coming down from the Blue Hills.
I just call them dragonflies.
Dragonflies are our friends
Aside from being cool bugs that can hover in mid-air, they eat lots of mosquitoes.
Please do not harm them, they are on our side.
How do you harm a dragonfly?
I don't think a human could hit the damned things if s/he wanted to. Way too fast.
It's doable
Bug spray? Long handled swatter? I know some people are freaked out by any insect, but please leave these alone.
Someone long ago - when I was young and callous - showed me how to catch a resting dragonfly. Like frogs, they have differential vision so if you slowly and patiently creep up on them they won't move.
