The State Library of Massachusetts has posted several photos that show construction work in various part of the state and that they're trying to identify. Several of them have already been IDed, but so far, not this one.

Hurley Building in Government Center?
Good a guess as any
That's a good guess. I was almost going to say the Pru, but I don't recognize that Boston Public School-like building in the background. Unfortunately, unlike the Archives photos, we don't get the answer to this one. Not right away anyway.
building far back right
Is pretty distinctive. And there is a sloped roof with a what looks like a large chimney in front of it. And all the transmission equipment in the center narrows it to a few locations. Although you have to remember it could be anywhere in the state.
That's Malden Center..
The electrical substation between Exchange St and Centre St. The buildings in the background are the back of the First Church and the top of the 1970s era Malden City Hall. Both buildings were recently demolished as part of a project to revitalize Malden Center. The construction in the foreground is probably the building of the CBD parking garage, which is right next to the electrical substation. I once lived about a mile from Malden Center T station and would walk by there almost every day. Street View from Centre St.
Dont see the old Mal's though

Steve Murphy's piehole.?
I used to live near there too.
Neal is right. The picture is looking north.
The Orange Line would be over on the left if the picture was a bit wider.
