Another Cantabrigian gets overly excited over coronavirus concerns in public, but this time only with his mouth, not a knife

Cambridge Police report that a Cambridge resident "confronted two Belmont residents about them not wearing masks" at Fresh Pond Parkway and Huron Avenue around 7:50 p.m. on Sunday, loudly enough to spark a call to 911.

"The two Belmont residents were given masks and information about the new requirement," police say.

Last week, a Cambridge father was charged with pulling a knife on a jogger coming towards him and his brood on Putnam Avenue.

Cambridge officials have asked residents to leave enforcement of the new face-covering regulation to police.

How the world changes in a month. A month ago you would hardly see people wearing masks, now people are literally jumping off the curb to avoid each other.

I wear a mask but predict soon masks will be used as political pawns. Soon one group will be wearing thin blue line masks others will wear black lives matter masks. Some will wear confederate flags as masks others will wear rainbow masks. Candidates for public office will no longer use bumper stickers but will distribute masks with their names on them. Gangs will have colored coded masks which will lead to an escalation in street crime. We will become more divided than united for wearing masks that are designed to save us.

You know those Mask Police people are the same ones who used to be the Seat Police on the T - the ones who judged who deserved to sit and who didn't based on a quick glance at you.

If you want to learn about Cambridge and it’s people, just spend an afternoon walking at Fresh Pond. The ardent, armchair righteousness, about pretty much every current trend, is powerful.
(Not saying don’t wear your masks, just commenting on Cantabrigian righteousness).

So you're judging all residents of my town based on...how they walk on a public path? What you might be nosy enough to overhear while they walk on that path? Add on the fact that a large portion of those people probably aren't even from Cambridge?

Hmmm..."armchair righteousness"...it almost seems like that applies to you...?

Nah. Couldn't be.

Why do I get the urge to take my mask off and show other people my smile?

It's getting rather inhumane out there, understandably sad :(
