Fire damages Ugi's building in Nubian Square

The Boston Fire Department reports a two-alarm fire on the second floor of the building housing Ugi's Subs on Warren Street in Nubian Square did an estimated $250,000 in damage.

Firefighters responded around 5:30 a.m.

I hope it's salvageable. Such a neighborhood stable. I remember going for the subs and fries in high school. Even my mom and her friends hung out and ate here when she was in school!

Was confined to the second floor, but there's got to be a lot of water damage.

I'm with you 100%. I got nothing but happy in my head when I think of Ugi's. Good memories. I used to love watching them go crazy chopping the steak for the steak and cheese! Best around!!

Ugi's survives in Egelston Square I think.
