We wondered what was up - many, many sirens in the still of the night, and helicopter(s?) droning overhead.

Was Smokey all the way down to Upham’s corner. When I drove by around 6:30 there were a billion fire trucks. Hope everyone is ok.

From street pictures and real estate listings, it looks like 3 units, each with 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. 6-7 adults and 5-6 children in each unit. Not preposterous, but I don't envy their bathroom contention.

It's a three decker. 37 is crazy.

I spent a day doing political canvassing last year before the primaries, in a neighborhood adjacent to mine. I was flabbergasted at the number of people living in what appeared to me to be 3-deckers just like mine. I'm assuming a lot of extended families, but it hammered home to me that we really have no idea how others may be forced to live right under our noses.
