Health care workers are always vulnerable because of heavy exposure and exhaustion, even when there's enough protective gear available.

Now it gets ugly.

If you bought and hoarded masks, gloves, etc., TURN IT OVER TO THE HOSPITALS! You don't need it. THEY DO.

When this all started a few weeks ago, I went into my basement as I had some masks left over from a DIY project a few years ago. I stuffed them in my cabinet upstairs and forgot about them.

A friend of mine, who works in a hospital in Florida, called me last night, as I was suppose to arrive to see her today on a (now cancelled) vacation. Anyways she told me down there supplies are limited, and there's so many elderly. She really needs a N95 mask so she doesn't get sick. Her voice sounded desperate.. and we've just started.

I went today to put on a mask (first day out in a few days so I decided to now wear one), and I realized they are N95 ones, and i have like 10 of them.

Needless to say I FedEx'd her 3 of them. Gave one to my neighbor for her elderly mom, and have one set aside for my coworker for his mom also (he's gonna come by tomorrow and grab it). The last four I'm going to hang on to.

I did ask my local nurse friends if they wanted them, and most thought it was sweet to ask but the hospital isn't out yet but to hang on to them.

I just can't believe that I had to FedEx those to her. We should have supplies for these folks, and in abundance.

I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO GO INTO MY BASEMENT AND DIG THRU CRAP SO NURSES CAN LIVE.

Amazon paying something in taxes?

Health insurance companies spending premiums on healthcare stuff instead of bonuses?

Sounds like you hate Freedom.

You're thick if you can't figure it out.

So many things why they do not have enough gear. I'm done trying to correct people who refuse to pick up a few different media types and R E A D

And the security guard tried to turn us away. Not much. A pack of 50 latex and a pack of 100 vinyl gloves we had in the cabinet. Then a nurse or doctor came out and said "donations? we'll take everything!"

says the state governors should more,

WHILE HE'S OUTBIDDING THEM FOR MEDICAL SUPPLIES!!!

We are LITERALLY on our own here.

The United States Federal Govt is no longer able to provide for it's citizens in any meaningful way during crisis and the World Health Organization has been turned away by a crime family operating as a political party.

Our local hospitals NEED us as citizens, neighbors, and friends to help them in any way we can. Be it food, supplies, or mere comfort at a time when they're being ravaged by a horrific disease that STILL hasn't fully hit us yet.

We Americans are better than who represents us on the world stage and it's now up to us, the citizens, to prove it.

Be safe, be smart, help those around you who need it and above all else wash your $#@%!&$ hands!

- Peace

So much this. If you look at # infected per capita stats for other countries, we're about an order of magnitude behind (that's 10x less than what other countries are seeing). We are in a bad spot. Do your part! This isn't about partisanship
