Jamaica Plain food pantry seeks food donations today

The First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain has canceled its normal Thursday food-bank pickup for Thursday due to the impending snowstorm, and is looking for donations today to help it get food out over the upcoming pre-holiday weekend to the 300 families it normally serves.

They're looking in particular for tomato sauce, shelf stable milk, dried beans, apples, oranges, bananas, sweet potatoes, fresh green veggies, canned soup and bread, so if you have any, drop it off today until 7 p.m. or Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the First Church, 6 Eliot St. in Jamaica Plain.
