The Zoning Board of Appeal today approved a proposal to turn a cell-phone store on Kneeland Street at Tyler Street into a take-out place selling matcha ice cream and boba tea.
Nobody spoke against Po Ching Chan's proposal turn his TimeZone Wireless into an ice-cream place next to Kung Fu Tea.
A neighborhood liaison from the mayor's office, however, asked for a "smooth transition" from cell service to ice-cream service, because many nearby residents currently use the shop for their phone needs.
The shop also needs a food-serving license from the Boston Licensing Board.
