Social Distancing doesn't apply to Mass Transit. You cant social distance yourself while trapped in a steel box while a mentally ill homeless person decides to get in your face and rant. The Transit Police are not going into the stations because several of them are out sick do to the virus. Those brave souls who do ride risk contracting the virus or becoming victims of the human parasites riding the rails who want to rob and mug passengers in deserted stations.

Have you actually ridden the T recently? Or are you making stuff up?

I truly appreciate T workers, store workers, and others who are putting themselves in harm's way.

However, one thing that would be very helpful in assessing how bad this is would be to know what percentage of T workers vs. general population are getting sick, given that we'd expect some to get sick even if they weren't working right now. We can't make intelligent decisions about how much more protection is needed without such information.

MassLive.com reports the number is up to 47 and provides some numbers on the populations (bus drivers and subway drivers) that somebody who is halfway decent at math (which rules out me and most other reporters) might be able to use to figure out rates.
