Man arrested for knife murder in Cambridge earlier this month

Jose Bermudez, 55, was arrested on murder charges today for the fatal stabbing of Danilo Perez, 33, on Franklin Street on the afternoon of Apri 15, Cambridge Police and the Middlesex County District Attorney's office report.

Bermudez was ordered held without bail at his arraignment today.

During the altercation the defendant and the victim, who were both members of the homeless community and known to each other, allegedly engaged in a verbal altercation before the altercation escalated, and Bermudez allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times. Following the altercation the victim allegedly fled before being located by a jogger on Franklin street. He was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
