Taking the new North Washington Street bridge out for a spin
By adamg on Sat, 07/18/2020 - 10:48am
Live Boston was up early this morning and so was one of the first people to drive over the new, temporary North Washington Street Bridge, which will ferry traffic between the North End and Charlestown until the more permanent bridge is finished:
Beautiful morning in #Charlestown as we were one of the 1st cars to cross the new *temporary* North Washington St Bridge. By end of day, two way traffic will be fully diverted as construction continues. @CityOfBoston @CharlestwnPatch @universalhub @LydiaMEdwards @BOSCityCouncil pic.twitter.com/WMr4BvlgYR

Here's hoping the temporary
Here's hoping the temporary bridge is replaced sooner than the Weymouth Fore River Bridge (15 years; part was donated to Haiti), or the Rourke Bridge in Lowell (37 years and counting).
