Citizen complaint of the day: Gazebo birb in Lower Mills

White bird in a gazebo in Dorchester Lower Mills

A concerned citizen files a 311 complaint asking the city to do, well, something, about this bird, which has been hanging out in an apartment-complex gazebo off Adams Street in Dorchester Lower Mills for a couple of weeks now. The report does not specify what the bird has been doing that's worth city action, aside from the fact that it exists.

Apparently they have had a few people who had to go to the emergency room because their eyes rolled back in their heads so far they got stuck....

Has anyone checked to see if there's a nest? If a bird stays in one place for weeks there's generally a nest with eggs.

Guessing the poster thought it was a lost pet dove. Not that 311 is the smart place to post in that case.

No. Magoo all you want. You usually make me giggle so keep being you please. If others have an issue they don't have to read your comments. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Anyone know what type of bird this is??

Overwrought. Looney Twit. Common to the area.

More easily identified by its call -

"I'm subsidising all the other birds,, WaaaaaAAAHHH!"

It looks like a leucistic pigeon.

I bet it's a noise complaint. Those litte birds sing loud this time of year. Mating season.

that, like the display-enthusiast gentleman on West Broadway, this particular birb may very well have submitted the 311 complaint itself?

What the heck happened to this thread? Subsidized rent for birds? How did we get here?

Try to stay on topic folks.

I had a turkey have babies on my patio In the south end. The babies would no leave so neither would the 35+ lb turkey. 311 said turkeys are protected and they couldn’t do anything. This thing was scary and gigantic. At one point a baby turkey was chased into my apt. Animal control got it back outside but felt they were fine to hang here. It went after my neighbor and then it was gone. All of those birds are protected by laziness and paperwork. If that turkey didn’t attack then it would still be here. The thing was gigantic and angry.

Which had nothing to do with the topic of a 311 complaint about a bird in a gazebo.
