Election roundup: Campbell hits Janey on Patrick Rose report; meet the 17 people running for at-large seats on the city council

Seems increasingly unlikely that either Andrea Campbell or Kim Janey will endorse the other should only one of them make it into the November final election:

More from Campbell on the still private report on how an accused pedophile rose to become president of the local police union.

The Dorchester Reporter rounds up the 17 people running for one of the four at-large council seats. The September preliminary will reduce the field to eight candidates for the four open seats for the November finals. This year, two of the four incumbents - Michelle Wu and Annissa Essaibi-George - are running for mayor rather than for re-election.

The Reporter also heralds the birth of yet another mystery-meat Boston super PAC with a vague name: Bostonians for Real Progress.

The Ward 5 Democratic Committee (Back Bay, Beacon Hill, Fenway and Bay Village) has joined its neighbors in Ward 4 and endorsed Wu for mayor:

As Democratic activists, we've experienced her collaborative nature and style, and we believe Michelle's vision and leadership will be transformational for our city.

The Boston Sun reports on a forum for candidates in District 7 seat that Kim Janey held until she became acting mayor.

The Scope interviews Evandro Carvalho, the former state rep and unsuccessful DA candidate now running for the District 4 seat Campbell is giving up to run for mayor.

Janey is just skating on her technical incumbency. She has done nothing of substance and mostly focuses on her sneaker choices. I really hope voters see through this.
