Man charged with attacking EMT at Mount Auburn Hospital for no apparent reason; is arrested after he returns to the hospital

Cambridge Police report arresting a man they say beat an EMT at Mount Auburn Hospital Saturday night.

Police say Kevin Wells, 46, who lists an Albany Street shelter as his address, was walking out of the hospital after receiving unspecified treatment around 9:40 p.m. when:

He punched the unsuspecting EMT in the face multiple times. The attack was unprovoked. The EMT suffered minor facial injuries.

Wells returned to the hospital around 11:30 p.m., police say. Security guards tried to get him out, but he refused to leave. Police were summoned. He was charged with assault and battery on ambulance personnel and trespassing, police say.
