Sad news for fast-food fans: Construction work next to VFW Parkway McDonald's is not for another take-out place

Work on a long unused parking lot between the Waves car wash and the McDonald's on VFW Parkway northbound, on the stretch that feels like Dedham but is really West Roxbury, is to clear space so the car wash can add a second drive-through tunnel and more vacuums, according to permits issued over the past few months by ISD.
