Teen charged with woman's daytime murder at Bowdoin and Washington in Dorchester last month

Albert Brown, 17, was ordered held without bail at his arraignment today on charges he shot Tasjahnaya Dance to death at Bowdoin and Washington street in Dorchester on Jan. 22, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Dance was shot repeatedly around 12:40 p.m. Responding officers found her lying on the ground; Boston EMS transported her to Boston Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

The DA's office reports multiple surveillance cameras in the area helped lead detectives to Brown. In addition to murder, he was charged with unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.
