The Ring reports the death on Monday of Tony DeMarco, "the wild-swinging Boston brawler who won the world welterweight championship in 1955" - at the Garden, no less.

A statue honoring DeMarco was unveiled in 2012 at Cross and Hanover streets to honor the man who grew up in the North End.
