No can opener, and he made it about 2/3 of the way under the bridge.

Note that about 2 years ago they raised the bridge (a railroad bridge) 8 inches from 11'8" to 12'4" clearance. This has reduced the frequency of crashes but they still happen regularly.
I remember that bridge very well.
I used to live in Durham.
The bridge is between a Durham Freeway interchange and Duke University's east campus. What did people think was going to happen when the freeway was built?
