Last night we got the sun pillar but tonight we got a different colored mystery display in the sky

One day after people across the Boston area saw an unusual, reddish sun pillar, Heather Anderson saw something unusual and green up in the sky:

Did anyone in the Marina Bay/Quincy area, looking toward Back Bay see a huge green flash at like 5:15 tonight? Someone else has to have seen it!

A Roslindale resident reported around the same time:

If you look southbound, the sky was turning green, blue and red and I was on the phone with a friend and I told him and I hung up three minutes later I was on the phone with another friend and they were driving and they saw the sky light up the same way I said what the hell is going on I’ve never seen that before. I’m just curious are we getting attacked by aliens cause legit the whole sky lit up three different colors and I didn’t hear fireworks. And if we are getting attacked by aliens, I’m upset I came to work.

We're pounding this out at the UHub mountain lair on the Roslindale/Hyde Park frontier, with no sign of alien invaders on our street, so we're guessing it wasn't aliens.

Probably not aliens, though, probably just an exploding Eversource transformer. Letitia Adams reports:

Transformer blew on my street in Dorchester the color lit up my apartment. Power still out lines off poles.

Eversource reported a power outage due to "equipment damage" in the Four Corners area of Dorchester that started at 5:17 p.m. It estimated restoration time of 10:15 p.m. for the 308 homes and businesses without power, but Adams reported at 9:40 p.m. that the power just came back on.
