Murdering petrostate tries to up its image with 'Boston' golf tournament in Bolton

GBH reports Mohammed Bone Saw's favorite golf tournament is coming to some course in Bolton - after a round at a Trump-owned course - but because nobody outside of Massachusetts has ever heard of Bolton, they're calling it the LIV Golf Invitational Boston. Would be a real shame if people showed up on Ballville Road in Bolton holding large photos of Jamal Khashoggi.

TPC Boston, which has hosted PGA Tour events in the past, is in Norton.

But yeah, both of these golf courses are kind of, sort of, in the Greater Boston area, so that the tournament uses Boston in the name is far from the most offensive thing about it.

Conversely, the PGA dropped the TPC Boston as a regular event location, so I'll give LIV credit for having something around here. Won't watch it, but that's mainly because watching golf is akin to watching paint dry.

To drive to Bolton to hold a stupid sign nobody is going to see or care about.

Also gas is way to expensive to bother.

Should you care to hold a sign and not contribute to the Bone Saw Family Trust with the 2-3 gallons of gasoline needed to get there.

Gotta say, nice riding there outside I-495. Lots of quiet country roads with rolling hills and apple orchards. One of my favorite routes goes right past the International which I believe had some *ahem* financial issues lately.

At a May press conference in England, Norman, the LIV CEO, seemed to downplay Kashoggi’s murder, saying, “Look, we’ve all made mistakes, and you just want to learn from those mistakes and how you can correct them going forward."

Can't you just give someone a second chance?

That'll age well.

(ETA although it should have been obvious: I'm commenting on the quote Pete posted, not what Pete said)

Trump has been in the news every day for 7 years. I’m still waiting for the media to realize they continually give him more power by incessantly printing his name for click bait. He has been essentially banned from commenting online to the masses and yet the media, particularly on the left, is keeping him in the public sphere.

It is clear their bottom lines are more important and they actually do not care at all if he gets re-elected. It’s almost like they want him back in office. Oh well.

To realize that his reaction to the murder of an American was to get on his knees and say “Thank you sir may I please have another.”

Given how confused they are by reality vs. what they want reality to be, I’m watching Waiting for Godot, the sequel.

Who cries "crooked media" for sport, but it's clear that they're not even trying anymore when I read a story about David Perdue losing the GOP gubernatorial primary in Georgia, and the online story from NBC News calls it a "defeat for Trump" in the first paragraph before even using the name of the actual candidate involved.

He's not going to be governor and Trump is overtly hinting at running for president again, so that's 100% relevant. Is there something more pressing than a guy losing and going back to doing nothing?

is because of one of the golf courses, which is named after him. Should the media instead avoid even naming the location where part of this story is taking place?

It’s completely unnecessary in the report. A Saudi backed golf tour is coming to the US, which is part of globalization. This actually gives more power to the players, if you care about that sort of thing.

It’s reported here because they are coming to Massachusetts. It makes zero difference where they play before or after, unless you are looking to churn up hateful reactions in your readers.

Why is there no mention of the Rich Harvest Farms location in Illinois?

Open your eyes to the media manipulation. You’re being used as a pawn.

It looks like Saudi Arabia has been up to this for a while and it’s called sports washing.

Why is LIV Golf here?
The politically correct answer that LIV Golf purports that it wants to give players an opportunity to make more money than they do on the PGA Tour and grow the game all over the world. The actual answer, given that it's a Saudi Arabian-run league, is something called sports-washing -- which is a term for normalizing a country or entity through sports. Saudi Arabia has attempted to do this through other sports leagues, including F1 and soccer.

It’s completely unnecessary in the report

Therapy is available for the sprain you gave yourself making this reach. It would be downright weird not to mention it. Stop caping so hard.

Thank you for proving my point in your reaction. Hope you have a nice day Ibb.

What’s downright weird is the lack of attention on the current president’s son. If that were one of trump’s kids, the media would be printing their name everyday as well. If you don’t see that, well, then you don’t see much.

Mr. "thank you for proving my point" proving once again that he has no idea what constitutes proof. You are hilarious, dude!

Hope you have a nice day Ibb.

I'm having a beautiful day, thanks very much. You, on the other hand, seem to have your knickers in a knot. Unless you've completed your family, you might wish to do something about that.

Is kind of funny. Well done, Ibb. You’ll be sad to know my family is complete.

You prove my point because of the incessant amount of insults you hurl at people. You love trump in the news as a constant negative because it must make you happy. Your happiness then apparently causes you to attempt to insult people. It’s very strange. Rather than engage in actual dialogue, you just go on the attack.

I’m glad you’re enjoying your day.

You prove my point

You keep saying this, Pee Wee, and it keeps being bullshit.

Did you ever take a math class? Like, in college, or even high school? I'm just asking because seem to think "You prove my point" means "You said a thing I don't like and I don't want to be true". This is not what the word "proof" means.

Ibb, you are an angry fish biting on constant trump clickbait that the media is feeding you for their own profit and gain. I said it churns up hateful reactions in readers and here you are, proving my point in every post.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/prove%20a%20point

If that phrase is not making sense to you (I’m pretty sure it does and you are willfully staying in some closed minded angry bubble), here are others to use as a substitute:

“For example”

“To cite an instance”

https://thesaurus.plus/synonyms/to_prove_the_point

Printing trump’s name in the news churns up hateful reactions in readers. For example, read Ibb’s posts above and below.
