Hawk vs. chicken

Update: Case closed, Animal Control reports "The chicken was taken to the shelter."

A concerned citizen filed a 311 complaint about a life-or-death situation at Nevada Street and Wilmington Avenue in Dorchester this morning:

Chicken tied up to tree and Hawk trying to get it please come rescue him.

311 referred the report to Boston Animal Control.

But an attempt to keep the chicken from ranging all over the neighborhood. They are notorious for that.

The chicken is doing fine and is actually quite friendly. At some point in her life has learned trust humans.

She will be transferred to a partner shelter to be adopted.

Hoe did the chicken survive with one leg tied to a tree? It's not like the hawk couldn't have just landed on the ground and took her out. That must be some tough ass chicken!
